YELLOW-STAR HOUSES: PEOPLE, HOUSES, FATES BUDAPEST, 1944
Yellow-Star Houses reveals a lesser known period of the Jews in Budapest. In June 1944 almost 200,000 Jews living in Budapest were forced to leave their homes and were crowded into 2100 designated houses marked with Star of David. The book contains 90 recollections of the former residents of those houses. The family stories are grouped into thematic chapters. The introductory essay authored by an acknowledged Hungarian historian is providing an objective, historical overview of the time. In addition to the stories and the essay the book includes documents and photographs preserved in family archives.
